At the edge of the Arctic, in the heart of the wilderness, lies a city of youth, energy, adventure and prosperity. Yellowknife is a culturally rich capital thriving with diversity, and home to about 20,000 people. Located on the shores of the beautiful Great Slave Lake, only 512 km south of the Arctic Circle, it is known for outdoor recreation, midnight sun, aurora borealis and an unusual blend of northern culture… a City where history is found throughout a modern, bustling metropolis. This is the beginning point from which these four talented Canadian musicians take off. Sometimes in four different directions, sometimes following the leader, the music is full of energy, adventure and a sense of space. A sense of cold. The sound of snow. Machines and man clashing at the top of the world. Improvised music slicing through the heart of vast open spaces. White for as far as the eye can see, and then some.
“Leaving snow to be snow.
Here, again in the air, here they are: those small darknesses the hand releases when it opens—”
